*NEW* BBA in Marketing Management

Registrations NOW being accepted for classes starting September 2010 

The BBA Marketing Management degree has now been approved by the Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development effective August 2010. We know that many are eager to learn all about it, and to be among the first to secure a spot in the new program. Courses in the new program are being offered this fall. Below you will find information about the degree.

Overview of the Program

Employers told us what they wanted from a marketing graduate. They want to hire marketers who understand the whole business. They want marketers who can make real differences for their organizations. They need people who can seamlessly integrate traditional practices and emerging marketing technologies.

Graduates of the BBA in Marketing Management will be up to these challenges.

Start Date

The BBA in Marketing Management classes officially start this September 2010 and will be available each term thereafter.

What will be studied

The course of study for the BBA Marketing Management delivers on the promise to employers to create modern marketing specialists with a sound understanding of the foundations of business. Fundamentals from all business disciplines including accounting, human resources, operations, economics and management are studied.

The advanced marketing courses build on the fundamentals of marketing and emphasize the use, impact and potential of new marketing technologies. Management of business development, marketing information, integrated communications, the creative process, and digital marketing are applied in the context of our technology driven business world.

Students of the program will study the principles, and practice the skills necessary to expand a company, to manage a salesforce, and manage key corporate accounts.

Marketing leadership will be developed further as students manage the creative plan for an organization and learn to work with the professionals who help bring it to reality. The creative management includes important skills and experiences related to websites and web 2.0 marketing initiatives. The course of study teaches students how to ensure that their marketing communications are fully integrated across all media and audiences.

Technology can be of great advantage to a marketer, but only if you know how to use it. All aspects of the marketing mix are changing with the new developments. Graduates of the program will be able to take traditional marketing principles and use emerging technologies to deliver for their organizations.

With understanding of and appreciation for advanced marketing techniques, graduates will want to be certain that they are making the right choices and delivering the results they've promised their organizations. Employers want marketers who can justify decisions and demonstrate results. They want to see the bottom line impact. This program teaches how to collect, analyze and report the vast quantities of available data to clearly demonstrate marketing results.

Like the marketing diploma, students will have many opportunities to work with industry. Through the practical and applied nature of the program, students will work on real marketing management projects for real clients. Throughout the program, students will create an e-portfolio allowing them to showcase their work to future employers. You will graduate ready to secure the professional marketing position you want.

Graduates of the BBA in Marketing Management will learn to:

  • Manage projects and deliver marketing programs, events, & activities
  • Develop and manage profitable client relationships
  • Negotiate and manage key accounts
  • Evaluate and convey quantitative business information
  • Cooperate with the complete range of functional departments within the organization
  • Exhibit a sound understanding of business principles and realities "
  • Manage the strategic marketing planning process to achieve organizational goals
  • Demonstrate accountability for the return on the marketing investment
  • Support organizational and departmental objectives
  • Experience opportunities to apply course concepts to practical working environments
  • Appreciate global business issues and their impact on the marketing function
  • Engage a variety of diverse, multi-cultural market segments
  • Acquire a broad understanding of society to help the organization better relate to its environment
